>Chemical Hygiene Plans

Each laboratory on campus that has chemicals must have a Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) which addresses two main questions: "What are the hazards present? How are the hazards controlled?" A lab's CHP is composed of the Chemical Safety Guide and the completed CHP Forms.

>Hazard Communication Plans

All units on campus that use hazardous chemicals in a non-laboratory environment must implement a hazard communication plan. Employees have both a need and a right to know the hazards and identities of the chemicals they are exposed to when working. They also need to know what protective measures are available to prevent adverse effects from occurring. The Hazard Communication Plan assists campus units in providing this information to their employees.
